At the Federal Capital Territory Universal Basic Education Board (FCT UBEB), we remain unwavering in our commitment to advancing inclusive, equitable, and sustainable basic education for every child within the FCT.
The officials of FCT UBEB participated in a strategic meeting organised by the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) focused on the integration and institutionalization of the LUMINAH Program — an initiative dedicated to expanding access to quality education for underserved girls and women across Nigeria.
Key highlights of the meeting included the establishment of a dedicated budget line for alternative education for girls, the introduction of scholarship opportunities, the creation of new high schools, and the implementation of skills development programs aimed at empowering both girls and their mothers.
By embedding the LUMINAH Program within UBEC’s national framework, and aligning with FCT UBEB’s implementation strategies, this initiative is set to promote institutional ownership, sustainability, and meaningful community impact, particularly in rural and economically vulnerable areas of the FCT.
