I write with deep respect to tender my sincere apologies and express my honest regrets regarding the publication error that appeared on the FCTUBEB.GOV.NG website.
I wish to state clearly and categorically that my company accepts full responsibility for this error. There is no attempt to deflect or dilute accountability. The responsibility rests entirely with us, and I humbly seek your kind permission to make the necessary corrections in line with your direction.
Given the sensitivity of this matter and the current circumstances surrounding the system, I respectfully request your indulgence to allow me explain, in detail, how this error occurred.
As part of our internal process, we began tracking and digitising school calendar data as far back as the 2023/2024 academic session. At that time, a structured web template was created to convert official letters into a standardized web format for publication. This template was based directly on the original 2023/2024 approval letter, which contained the following text:
“This is to inform you that the Permanent Secretary, FCT has approved the 2023/2024 School Calendar for Primary and Post Primary levels in the FCT.”
Regrettably, during the preparation and publication of the 2025/2026 calendar, this specific line of text within the template was not updated to reflect the exact wording contained in the official 2025/2026 approval letter. This oversight represents a quality control failure on our part, and I take full responsibility for it.
I sincerely regret that this error was published and acknowledge the confusion or concern it may have caused. Please be assured that there was no intent whatsoever to misrepresent information, and the error was purely procedural.
To provide full transparency, I am attaching the original 2023/2024 approval letter, which was the source from which the outdated text originated. Upon your approval, I am fully prepared to effect the necessary corrections immediately and to implement additional internal checks to ensure that such an oversight does not occur again.
Once again, I offer my unreserved apologies for this lapse and for any inconvenience it may have caused. I respectfully appreciate your understanding and guidance as we take corrective action.
